LUCKY 13 FOR BRITISH SUPERCROSS
It’s hard to believe the Future West ACU/FIM British Supercross Championship will reach its 13th birthday in 2009. The long running British Supercross Championship that usually kicks off at Sheffield will this year fire up at Birmingham's NEC as part of the Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show on Saturday, November 28th.
The ten day long annual motorcycle show that dwarfs all other UK shows will host two rounds of the British Supercross Championship on consecutive weekends. Round one will be Saturday, November 28th with round 2 on Saturday, December 6th. In addition to the 2 rounds of British Supercross action the track at the NEC will not be sitting dormant during the rest of its ten day run, daily Supercross demos will be held four times a day on none race days.
If you subscribe to the bigger is better theory when it comes to Supercross tracks then you are in for a real treat at Birmingham. The sprawling Hall 5 at the NEC will be transformed into an off-road zone including a Supercross track twice the size of the normal arena style venues. If you are planning to attend it would be a good idea to book early with only 5000 seats being installed.
Future West Spokesman John Hellam said “It’s a good progression for our series to start off at the Carole Nash Motorcycle Show. With an annual attendance of around 160,000 it is a great opportunity to introduce motorcycle enthusiasts of all kinds to The British Supercross Championship, its riders, fans and the off-road world in general all in the indoor comfort of the NEC.
After the first two rounds at the NEC the series will move on to the Liverpool Echo Arena on Saturday, January 23rd. Liverpool will play host to its third annual visit for one night only. The Echo Arena will be the only Northern stop of the Championship this season as Sheffield will be hosting its first ever British round of the FIM Indoor Enduro World Cup on October 31st. The Liverpool Echo Arena is part of the impressive Albert Dock redevelopment complex which boosts a ton of tourist attractions, restaurants, pubs and hotels. The fourth round of the series will once again be held at The O2 Arena in London on Saturday, January 30th. The O2 complex is recognized as the best of its kind in the world and will play host to the series grand finale for the 3rd consecutive year.

The first quad race will take place at round 3 of the British Supercross Championships on Saturday January 24th at the Liverpool Echo Arena with the second and final race of the year at The O2 Arena final round of the British Supercross Championships the following weekend January 31st.

London and Liverpool ready to rock!!!
The British Supercross Championship bursts back into action with a vengeance with three nights of racing over two consecutive weekends. It all gets going at Liverpool's Echo Arena on Friday January 23rd and Saturday the 24th, followed by the finale at The O2 Arena, London on Saturday January 31st.
The series has attracted the best of British Supercross riders and an impressive line-up of international riders from the US, Canada, South Africa, France, Spain, Ireland and Scandinavia. The US will be represented by current British SX1 champ and former US outdoor champ Mike Brown and latest additions to the line-up US rider Zach Osborne and Teddy Maier who will be making their British Supercross debuts.
Osborne impressed GP fans by winning his first GP in Ireland in 2008 and will be competing on a Dixon UTAG Yamaha. Kawasaki rider Teddy Maier from Iowa has made a name for himself in US Arena-cross and more recently the Canadian Arena-cross and Motocross Championships.
Speaking of Canadians Dixon UTAG Yamaha will also be represented at both Liverpool and London by three Canadian riders, also British Supercross regulars with SX2 British Supercross Champ Colton Facciotti, who took the win in the SX1 class at Sheffield back in October. Joining him will be former Canadian Arena-cross champion and last year's winner at The O2 Arena, Kyle Beaton plus five times Canadian MX1 champion Jean Sebastian Roy better known as JSR. Other Canadians making the trip over the Atlantic will be last year's Liverpool SX2 winner Kris Foster, who will be joined by fellow Canadian Kawasaki team-mate Brock Hoyer on DK Offroad Kawasaki's. South African's Neville Bradshaw and Lloyd Vercuiel, Spain's Xavier Hernandez and Norwegian Rasmus Jorgensen will also add to the international line-up
The best of the UK will also be raring to go. Ireland's PAR Honda rider Gordon Crockard, Relentless Suzuki's Martin Barr and former British Outdoor and Supercross Champ MVRD Suzuki rider Carl Nunn are amongst the favourites for the new British Open Supercross title as is head to head star Ashley Greedy. Greedy, the hugely popular head to head dash for cash star will keep the fans on the edge of their seats adding to the entertainment.
New for Liverpool and London will be the first ever appearance of Quads in British Supercross, with a record numbers of rider entrees and very strong pre-ticket sales at both venues it all promises to be a great conclusion to the official ACU FIM backed British Supercross Championship.
