Searle, Coisy and More!

By now most know that Britain's best rider, Tommy Searle is heading stateside at the end of this season to proudly fly the Union Jack in front of the single biggest motocross community in the world. The opportunity to see Tommy on his home turf in the near future could be rare as Tommy will soon be experiencing the sizzle of the California sun.

Before Searle packs up his sun screen he will be turning up the heat in the ACU/FIM British Supercross Championship that kicks of at the Sheffield Arena on Saturday October 25th. Unlike outdoor racing Tommy will be competing in both the new British Pro Open and SX2 Championship classes giving fans an extra last look at the man in competition before he crosses the pond.

Tommy will be facing some tough competition against what could be the most competitive British and International rider line-up ever, in the twelve year history of the event. Tommy and his Red Bull KTM team are taking things very seriously by bringing over factory team support from Austria to the South Yorkshire home of British Supercross.

FRENCH CONNECTION

Five-time French Supercross Champion Ben Coisy has confirmed to compete at round one of the British Supercross Championship on Saturday the 25th of October at Sheffield Arena.

Coisy is no stranger to danger in the form of world class Supercross competition. Coisy has already shared the podium with the likes of Chad Reed and Grant Langston. After conquering most of Europe's Major Supercross events including wins at Geneva, Moscow and Madrid the French rider who recently rode for the US factory Honda team in the US has set his sights set on adding Sheffield to his conquests. In Coisy's words he is coming to Sheffield to take on the Yanks at their own game in the SX1 class as a prelude as to what is to come in the US. Coisy will face some tough competition as he lines up alongside former World Supercross champ Heath Voss and fellow countrymen Jeff Alessi and Mike Brown who both took wins in last year's series. Brown, current British SX1 champ has both British and US outdoor titles on his cv, current Canadian MX1 and British SX2 champ Colton Facciotti along with current Canadian Arenacross AX1 and AX2 champ kyle Beaton will all be out to change Ben Coisy's plans as will the USA's Jason Thomas.

If the above International riders isn't enough other top riders making the trek to Sheffield include former British Supercross and Motocross champ Carl Nunn, Canada's Tyler Medaglia, Spain's Xavier Hernandez, South Africa's Neville Bradshaw, Northern Ireland's multi time British Champion Gordon Crockard and fellow Ulsterman Martin Barr. Other Top UK riders are also lining lining up for the new British Open Supercross Championship class including former SX2 British Supercross Champion Lewis Gregory, Swift Suzuki's Brad Anderson, PAR Homes Ray Rowson, CCM's Richie Worral and Kristian Whatley to name just a few.
